In beekeeping, almost all products are healthy. And even the corpses of honey bees are not thrown away. They are processed according to certain rules, stored under special conditions and actively used. Most often to get rid of various diseases, but you can also try it for weight loss.
True, official medicine does not recognize dead bees (that’s what the bodies of dead insects are called) as a medicinal or dietary product and even warns about the dangers of its use. Therefore, before deciding on this method of weight loss, you should weigh the pros and cons.
Efficiency
Why on earth did they suddenly suggest using dead bees for weight loss? The fact is that it preserves and does not decompose (if properly processed) royal jelly, honey, pollen, propolis, wax and even poison - all those products that are known for their healing properties.
It has been scientifically proven that it contains:
- chitosan complex: bee venom, glucosamine, melanin, heparin, acetic acid;
- apitoxin - bee venom;
- fat is the healthiest of all animal fats; scientists say that it will outperform even fish fat;
- alimentary fiber;
- the entire set of vitamins known to science;
- 27 micro- and macroelements.
Thanks to such a rich and beneficial chemical composition, when used correctly, dead bees really promote weight loss:
- accelerates metabolism;
- has a lipotropic effect, that is, it binds and removes lipids, at the same time reducing the load on the liver;
- normalizes the functioning of the thyroid gland, which synthesizes hormones that promote weight loss;
- reduces appetite;
- improves digestion;
- removes salts, waste, toxins and excess fluid from the body;
- eliminates atherosclerosis and reduces cholesterol;
- has a diuretic and choleretic effect;
- controls blood sugar levels.
And when used externally, it allows you to cope with cellulite and stretch marks that form during sudden weight loss.
However, the beneficial properties of the product have not been officially confirmed. Therefore, when using this method of weight loss, you will have to take full responsibility for the possible consequences.
On a note. One of the most unique properties of dead bees is that it retains all its benefits even with prolonged heating (withstands temperatures up to +115°C) and cooling (therefore, bees that died in winter still remain valuable biomaterial in the spring).
Is it possible to lose weight with bee kills?
Dead insect bodies are a natural remedy for fighting extra pounds, which does not contain synthetic components. The following substances from the composition are useful for the weight loss process: amino acids, bee venom, melatonin, chitosan and bioflavonoids. Beneficial effects of death:
- normalization of metabolism, acceleration of metabolism;
- breakdown of fats, blocking the absorption of macronutrients;
- restoration of thyroid function;
- suppression of hunger, decreased appetite;
- activation of the breakdown of adipose tissue, removal of lipids from the body;
- improving digestion, improving the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract;
- cleansing of waste, toxins, decay products, excess liquid;
- reducing the level of “bad” cholesterol, controlling blood sugar;
- diuretic, choleretic effect.
The listed properties are activated by internal intake of products based on dead bees. External use will help fight stretch marks, stretch marks, and cellulite. To improve and speed up the results, it is recommended to reduce the caloric content of the diet, play sports, and eliminate junk food.
Dangers
Doctors warn that in certain situations, death is extremely dangerous to health, as it contains bee venom. The risk of poisoning increases if:
- are allergic to bee products;
- alcohol tincture of death in large quantities is consumed for a long time;
- a low-quality product was used: expired, if the bees did not die a natural death, poorly filtered from debris;
- there are contraindications.
How to minimize risks:
- do not consume dead food if you have serious illnesses;
- use only high-quality products;
- gradually accustom the body to use, starting with small dosages.
Please also observe the contraindications under which its use is strictly prohibited:
- individual intolerance;
- angina pectoris, heart failure, recent heart attack;
- age up to 10 years;
- serious blood diseases;
- anemia;
- increased body temperature;
- cancerous tumors;
- addiction;
- cachexia;
- problems with the central nervous system: tendency to overexcitation, depression, phobias;
- II and III trimesters of pregnancy;
- open form of tuberculosis.
To use folk remedies, you usually need to obtain permission from doctors, but here it is more difficult. Most of them will prohibit losing weight in this way, since the risk of complications is high, and the effectiveness has not been scientifically proven.
Little secret. The only doctor who probably won’t prohibit you from losing weight like this is an apitherapist.
Harm from bees
The main negative property and harm of deadhead is its increased allergenicity. It contains a large number of components, so the range of allergies that it can potentially cause is quite wide.
It's not just allergies to honey and pollen. Allergens can also be bee venom, chitin and dust contained in the bodies of bees.
Processing and storage
If you are involved in beekeeping yourself and plan to use dead bees as a means of losing weight, you need to know how to properly process and store it. This is one of the most critical stages. Violation of one of the points may result in you receiving a low-quality product, the use of which may be hazardous to health.
Which is better?
Autumn, because after summer the bees’ bodies are maximally saturated with useful substances. The spring one is the most dangerous, as it can include feces, and insects are exhausted after winter and no longer contain much valuable biomaterial.
How to process it?
- Collect the bodies of dead bees in the hive.
- Using a fine strainer, separate out the debris.
- Dry in the oven. Leave for 10 minutes at 50°C several times.
- Grind using a coffee grinder (rinse it thoroughly afterwards).
How to store?
- Store in paper bags in a dry place.
- Regularly check for unpleasant odors, mold deposits, and dampness. If they are found, the product is no longer usable and should be thrown away.
- Shelf life is a controversial issue. Some say 1 year, others say 3 years.
I have an opinion. Some people believe that you can only ingest dead food that consists of bees that have died naturally (from hunger, cold, old age, injuries). In their opinion, if the beekeeper specifically killed them to obtain this biomaterial, it will no longer be so valuable. And the point is not so much the moral side of the issue, but the chemical one. Most often, for this purpose, the hive is treated with gas, which settles in the body of insects and blocks the action of beneficial substances.
What is bee death
The life cycle of a honey bee is about 35-40 days in the summer and about nine months in the winter. Since bees, unlike ants, do not reduce dead family members, the bodies of dead bees accumulate at the bottom of the hive. This, in fact, is bee death.
There are several types of death depending on when the bees die - winter, spring-summer, autumn. High rates of natural loss of bees occur in the first month after the end of wintering and at the approximate time of death of the first generation of bees of this season. Subsequently, the population levels out, and there is practically no mass death of bees.
The weight of winter deadhead in rare cases is less than 500 g; in spring and summer it is usually up to 1 kg. In just one year, the bee colony is completely renewed several times, and the total mass of dead bees can reach several kilograms.
The most useful is considered to be the last death - the autumn one. The benefits of dead bees born in the second half of summer are much higher - they did not lack nutrition and were maximally filled with vitamins. Spring and winter dead bodies consist mainly of “hungry” bees; they also contain a lot of feces after a long winter. It is not advisable to take such dead fruit internally; it is preferable to make various means for external use from it - tinctures, ointments, etc.
Beekeepers several times a year free the hive from death, which is used in many different traditional medicines. Along with honey, wax and propolis, deadwood is one of the important beekeeping products.
