The second recipe will demonstrate how to cook rice for a diet without cooking. It is this method that allows us to achieve more complete preservation of useful components. We will need four tall glasses. On the first day, you should add a couple of tablespoons of rice cereal to one of the glasses and then fill it with two hundred grams of water. The next day, you should change the water in the glass, and add the same amount of rice into the second glass. On the third day, you need to do the same thing - that is, replace the water in the first two glasses, and add water and rice to the third glass. You must do the same the next day. You should have four glasses of rice. On the fifth day, pour boiling water over the rice from the first glass and then eat. Eat the contents of the remaining glasses daily. One glass a day. How to cook rice. Secret No. 2 - variety

Now on store shelves, in addition to long-grain rice and short-grain (Krasnodar) rice, you can find many different packages with different names.

Basmati or Thai rice is distinguished by its yellowish color, long thin grains and a pronounced nutty smell.

Basmati is cooked according to the standard - 1 part rice to 2 parts water. After the water boils, you need to add the rice and cook it for 5-7 minutes, and then leave it covered for 30 minutes so that it absorbs the water. There is a second way - cook the rice for 15-20 minutes, and then leave it covered for 5-10 minutes. There is no need to stir basmati rice while cooking as it may become sticky.

Jasmine or Asian rice is also called Thai fragrant rice as it has a distinct jasmine aroma.

Jasmine is ideal for steaming. To cook according to the traditional Thai method, the rice must be washed well and cooked in a steamer on a wire rack.

Of course, it can also be boiled - but here you should remember that the amount of water should be less than in the standard recipe: a maximum of 1.5 cups of water per 1 cup of rice. The jasmine is cooked over low heat so that it is steamed properly, without removing the lid or adding water; there is no need to stir either. After 20 minutes, remove the pan from the heat and gently stir the rice, as if whisking. Leave covered for 10-12 minutes.

Devzira is the best rice for pilaf. A real gem from the Fergana Valley, red Fergana rice is long grain, beautiful and heavy.

Important! This rice is often counterfeited - colored with bricks, paprika and... dyes.

Devzira rice perfectly absorbs water, odors and fat, and when cooked, this rice increases in size 7 times! It is recommended to soak real devzira for 10-12 hours and only then cook. For devzira you need 5 glasses of water for 1 glass of rice. If you pre-soaked the devzira, the cooking time will be only 15 minutes.

Regarding pilaf: Uzbek and Tajik varieties of rice are also used for it - white alanga and oshpar. And brown dastar - saryk, barakhat, akmarzhan.

  • ginger root - a small piece;
  • green onions - a small bunch;
  • garlic - 3 cloves;

  • salt, pepper - to taste.

Preparation:

  1. To cook rice with frozen vegetables, first of all you need to boil the frozen mixture in salted boiling water for 6 - 7 minutes. It is worth choosing the option with carrots, sweet peppers and green beans.
  2. Add well-washed rice, bay leaves and 1 tbsp to the prepared vegetables. l. sunflower oil. You can use any of your favorite seasonings at this stage.

  • 1.5 cups long grain rice;
  • 500 gr. white cabbage;
  • 1 cup frozen green peas;
  • 2 onions;
  • 3 tomatoes;
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic;
  • 2 cm ginger root;
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin;
  • 2 tablespoons ground coriander;
  • 1 teaspoon curry;
  • 1 teaspoon dry ground chili pepper;
  • salt to taste;
  • vegetable oil for frying.

We wash the rice, drain it in a colander, and then place it on paper towels to dry thoroughly. Then heat the oil in a frying pan with high sides, add the rice and lightly fry, stirring. As soon as the grains begin to become translucent, pour in boiling water so that the water covers the grain. Cook over low heat until the rice is cooked. Then transfer the rice to another bowl and let it cool slightly.

Wash the frozen green peas with cold water, cut the cabbage into small squares.
