1. Knead the dough. Roll it out into a layer 2 mm thick, cut out circles with a glass, place the minced meat in the middle, pinch the edges of the dough and give the dumplings a crescent shape.

Whole grain dumplings with couscous and turkey

Ingredients. For the dough: 320 g premium wheat flour, 300 g whole grain flour, 320 ml water, 2 tbsp. sunflower oil, a pinch of sugar and salt, 50 g of starch. For the filling: 500 g turkey fillet, 200 g couscous, 200 g onions, 100 g softened butter, 200 g carrots, 50 ml sunflower oil, salt and ground pepper to taste.

Instructions. Knead the dough according to the same principle as in the previous recipe, cover with a damp towel, and leave for 30 minutes at room temperature.

Prepare the filling: pour boiling water over the couscous in a 1:2 ratio, cover tightly with a lid, leave for 15 minutes, then cool. Cut the onion into small cubes, grate the carrots on a fine grater, fry everything together in vegetable oil. Boil the turkey fillet and pass through a meat grinder along with onions and carrots. Mix with couscous, softened butter, salt and pepper.

Dust the work surface with flour (about 20 g), place the dough on it and roll it out into a thin layer. Use a glass to make circles. Place the filling in the middle of each, pinch the edges and give it the shape of a dumpling.

Boil the dumplings in slightly salted water for 6-7 minutes, remove with a slotted spoon, place on a plate and serve.

Diet on dumplings with apples

For the filling: 100 g strawberries from jam, 1-2 tbsp. spoons of olive oil, low-fat sour cream.

1. Knead the dough from the indicated ingredients.

2. Then form dumplings with strawberries, boil them, and then put them on a sieve. Place dumplings with strawberry jam on plates and serve with sour cream.

For filling: 3 apples, 1 tbsp. spoon of lemon juice, 4 tbsp. spoons of apple broth, 2 tbsp. spoons of sugar, cinnamon on the tip of a knife.

Dumplings are dough with meat. As a rule, the most common recipe contains pork, which nutritionists ask us to forget about. The combination of dough made from white wheat flour, rich in gluten, and fatty meat is a difficult test for the stomach and pancreas. Both of these foods typically top lists of ingredients banned on any diet. Together they make a completely diet-inappropriate dish.

Let us also remember the calorie content of ordinary dumplings: a semi-finished product prepared in the usual way (boiled dumplings) has a significant energy value: 275 kcal per 100 g (taking into account the energy value of the sauce).

If you also fry them, as we like to do, then more calories will be added. In this case, we will have a value of about 500 kcal per 100 g. And this is only if we fry the dumplings in vegetable oil. Using butter increases calorie content by 200 kcal. The conclusions are quite logical: dumplings, especially fried ones, are not worth eating on a diet.
