Maggi diet for 2 weeks (original and modern): fast, tasty and without kickbacks

This is interesting

The principle of the Maggi diet for 14 days is based on the fact that high protein foods have a low glycemic index (GI). In simple terms, this means that foods with a lower GI provide long-lasting satiety, while at the same time suppressing sugar cravings. According to a recent study by the American Society for Clinical Nutrition, increased protein intake suppresses appetite.

The original Maggi diet menu for 2 weeks is based on hard-boiled eggs. Its main rule is the distribution of food and regularity of nutrition. It is also necessary to maintain a drinking regime. And, since there is no effective weight loss without movement, physical activity is the most important part of dieting. An important principle of the Maggi food scheme for 2 weeks is a significant reduction in calorie intake (about 4000 kJ, and sometimes less).

Description of the nutritional value of chicken eggs

Recommendations for choosing chicken eggs

  • When choosing an egg in a store, it is better to choose an egg labeled “D”, which means “dietary”. A “diet” egg is the freshest, in contrast to a product labeled “C” - “table egg”.
  • The light weight of a raw egg means that the product is not fresh. The fact is that over time, a raw egg “dries out.”
  • A fresh raw egg will never float in a glass of water; it will remain at the bottom, unlike a spoiled one.
  • The egg should be cooked for no more than five minutes. A soft-boiled egg is quickly absorbed by the body and retains all its beneficial properties.

Acceptable and prohibited foods: their energy value

The Maggi diet menu can help you lose weight, reduce fat, and increase blood lipid levels. It helps people control their tastes. The recommended daily intake of protein is 0.8 g/kg body weight, but when losing weight, protein intake should be increased to 1.2-1.4 g/kg with fewer calories from fats and carbohydrates.

Unlike longer-term protein-based diets, Maggi does not have time to enter a state of ketosis when it consumes energy instead of carbohydrates from ketones produced when burning fat.

In contrast to the original Maggi diet for 2 weeks, the menu of the modern version contains, in addition to eggs, other sources of proteins.

Drinking regime

If you decide to follow the Maggi diet for 2 weeks, the menu table of which is presented above, do not forget about the drinking regime - it is important to avoid dehydration. Avoid mineral waters and alcohol.

Drink unsweetened drinks. The best choice is plain still water, herbal or fruit tea. Coffee is also recommended, but without sugar and milk.

The diet is not recommended for pregnant women, nursing mothers, children under 18 years of age, and the elderly.

Products

When choosing the Maggi diet as a way to lose weight, you need to understand that for a whole month you will have to eat mainly the same foods. Yes, this is not a mono-diet, and menu diversity is often mentioned among its advantages. In fact, the diet is repeated day after day, and only in your power to make it more saturated by choosing new dietary dishes each time.

But to do this, you will have to rely on the following table, which details permitted and prohibited products.

Everything sweet and floury, as well as any cereals (buckwheat and rice, including) are prohibited as part of the Maggi diet. Allowed fruits deserve special attention: for the cottage cheese version, they are useful for adding to the cottage cheese in the morning, but for the egg menu, grapefruit is required for breakfast, and orange during the day.

All dishes must be properly cooked: you can lose weight only if they are steamed, boiled, stewed or baked in the oven.

Starting from the 4th week of the hunger strike, it is allowed to lightly fry the meat subject to the following conditions:

  • no oil;
  • in a non-stick frying pan or grill;
  • no more than once every 3 days;
  • in small quantities.

Despite such strict restrictions, this will allow you to diversify your diet and create a fairly rich menu for every day that will not become torture for you.

Don't make things up! Some women who dream of losing weight, wanting to get the most out of the Maggi diet, use quail eggs, which are considered healthier than chicken eggs. But not in losing weight. After all, they do not contain lutein and so many essential amino acids involved in metabolism.

Indications and contraindications

The Maggi menu for 2 weeks is intended for healthy overweight and obese people. It is also suitable for those who want to adapt their diet and lifestyle to healthy standards. But this requires a lot of patience and endurance.

Contraindications:

  • pregnancy;
  • lactation;
  • diabetes;

  • • Food allergies to basic foods (eggs, citrus fruits, cottage cheese);
  • • Problems with the heart and blood vessels;
  • • Gastrointestinal pathologies (especially the Maggi diet is harmful for constipation, since protein foods contribute to it);
  • • During pregnancy, the Maggi diet is prohibited, as well as during breastfeeding, since it is narrowly focused: if there is an excess of protein in the body, there will be a lack of carbohydrates and fats, while all three components of a balanced diet are important for the formation of the fetus and the development of the baby in the first year of life.

If during the diet you have an unpleasant taste in your mouth or belching like a rotten egg, you need to stop and find another way to lose weight.

Pros and cons of this nutrition principle

  • risk of cardiovascular disease, kidney disease with longer adherence;
  • unbalanced diet;
  • risk of developing gout;
  • increased risk of colon cancer with saturated fat intake;
  • risk of dehydration;
  • possible yo-yo effect.

Facts and myths

Today there is a lot of information and recommendations available regarding weight loss, most of which are not based on truth. How to figure this out?

Myth: White wine promotes weight loss

Alcohol while losing weight is not recommended. As a last resort, 200 ml of white wine is allowed, washed down with the same amount of water to prevent dehydration.

Myth: When losing weight, you can consume sweets for diabetics

Products labeled “dia” contain almost the same amount of energy as regular sweets, and only due to their composition they are more suitable for diabetics.

Myth: It is recommended to drink water before every meal.

Drinking a glass of water before eating can actually help flush out toxic substances and make your food easier to digest, but be careful! Large amounts of water during meals are not recommended because they slow down digestion.

Grocery list

To competently create a detailed menu for every day for the Maggi egg diet, you should always have two very useful lists on hand. These are foods that you can safely consume throughout your fast and will help you lose weight. And products that can ruin the whole thing and will interfere with getting rid of extra pounds.

Authorized products:

  • dairy products: hard cheese up to 20% fat, cottage cheese 1-5%, eggs (yogurt and kefir are introduced in limited quantities from the 4th week of the Maggi egg diet);
  • fruits: citrus fruits (grapefruit is the main product), apples, peaches, pears, apricots, persimmons, pineapples, watermelons, melons, kiwis, plums (as well as unsweetened berries);
  • lean meat or minced meat: beef, rabbit, partridge, turkey, chicken (poultry must be peeled before use);
  • vegetables: zucchini, broccoli, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, greens;
  • bread products: dry toast, grain bread (no more than 1 piece per day), diet crackers, bran;
  • low-fat varieties of river and sea fish, as well as seafood: pollock, haddock, sole, shrimp;
  • drinks: herbal infusions, tea, coffee, chicory (all this can be drunk without milk and sugar);
  • salad dressings: olive oil (limited), lemon juice, balsamic vinegar, ginger (spices are not prohibited as part of the Maggi egg diet, but can cause heartburn).

Prohibited products:

  • dairy products: low-fat cottage cheese and more than 5%, cheese more than 20% fat, milk;
  • fruits: bananas, dates, grapes, cherries, mangoes, figs, avocados, dried fruits;
  • fatty meats: lamb, pork, duck, geese;
  • vegetables: potatoes, corn, beans, legumes, carrots, beets, any canned vegetables;
  • pasta, pastries, confectionery, bread;
  • mushrooms;
  • sugar;
  • drinks: juices, cocktails, lemonade, alcohol;
  • seasonings: mayonnaise, ketchup, soy sauce.

Allowed and prohibited foods for the Maggi egg diet are the foundation for creating a daily diet for weight loss. Even if you use sample menus, there is always a risk of some kind of substitution (you did not find the specified product, you are allergic to it, there are contraindications for use). And so that it does not become erroneous, always be guided by these lists. One wrong dish and all the results can go down the drain.

It will be even worse if you go on this diet without taking into account the contraindications for it.

Keep in mind! The amino acids in the egg last for a week. Starting from day 8, this product seems to “dry out”, losing these beneficial substances. So eggs are considered dietary and medicinal only for 7 days. And then they can be used exclusively for culinary purposes.

Adviсe

Stick strictly to the permitted types of food, and do not expand your diet according to personal preferences. Don't exclude protein foods, even if you feel full. Losing weight is achieved through protein consumption.

If you feel hungry, despite following the menu, it is permissible to take an additional portion of permitted vegetables at any time during the day.

Don't forget about physical activity (at least 1 hour 3 times a week). This will support metabolism, speed up the weight loss process, and strengthen muscles.

Basic principles

An important basis of the Maggi diet is the foundation that promotes weight loss. If changes are made to it, the system will be completely different. To obtain specific results, the following criteria must be taken into account:

  1. In accordance with the diet, the body receives a lot of protein.
  2. The amount of carbohydrates should be minimal.
  3. The main products should be eggs and low-fat cottage cheese.
  4. Grapefruit can be eaten as an additional product.
  5. Terms are limited to 2 or 4 weeks.
  6. The hunger strike lasts 14 days, during which you must strictly adhere to the nutritional schedule.
  7. 14 days of eating foods according to the list in a convenient quantity.

The author of this diet system is unknown, but it is considered correct from the point of view of physiology and medicine. The meal plan and the list of products have a strong effect. Experts point out the advisability of consuming citrus fruits together with protein ingredients.

The name of the diet comes from the name of the famous British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher (Maggie). The food system gained particular popularity after it was discovered in an old diary by unknown persons. The description indicated taking 2 eggs and grapefruit for breakfast.

Point of view

Reviews about the Maggi diet for 2 weeks cannot be called negative. People who have followed this food regimen testify to its effectiveness (except for people who did not consult a doctor before changing their diet). Is the opinion of experts equally positive?

The effectiveness of the Maggi diet has been tested on yourself - minus 5 kg. But after eating this way, eggs disappeared from my diet...

Faith

Minus 5 kg in 2 weeks. The activity of the stomach has normalized.

Inna

While following the Maggi diet, cholecystitis began for two weeks. I switched to the cottage cheese version.

Mila

The main indicator of a suitable diet is good health. If a change in diet does not cause discomfort, it means that the body accepts it. But in case of negative reactions of the body (nausea, dizziness, etc.) there is no need to torture it.

How to consolidate results

If you follow the Maggi diet menu for two weeks, you can lose up to 5-7 kg, but this figure is individual. To prevent the yo-yo effect after finishing your diet plan, continue following the principles of healthy eating.

Review of the Maggi egg diet

Review of Maggi's egg diet
I liked the fact that everything is very clear and clearly written. Also, the diet is very varied and you almost don’t feel like you’re limiting yourself in anything. But the diet turned out to be expensive for me, and I had to cook and cook something every day, and I like to do it a week in advance. Also, many products require very little, and they can sit in the refrigerator for a long time, but I immediately fed everything to my homemade ones.

You will like: Quickly remove belly fat? The Half Diet can help you!

And the results are as follows: after the first week -5kg, after the second -3kg. The waist volume decreased by 4 centimeters, and the hip volume by 3.

In general, this diet is designed for 4 weeks, but after the second week, neither I nor my friends and acquaintances lost weight at all, which is why I advise you to stay on this diet for two weeks, instead of four.

Another beauty of the diet is that after it you don’t gain the same weight. And it's true! Three months have passed since then, and the weight neither immediately after the end nor now has increased, but is only decreasing.

14-day menu

The Maggi diet menu for 2 weeks has the main product - eggs. Breakfasts are the same for 14 days, consisting of 3 hard-boiled eggs, ½ grapefruit, coffee without sugar and milk.

DayDinnerDinner
Mon.3 eggs, tomato, coffee3 eggs, lemon salad (no oil)
Tue½ grapefruit, 2 eggs, coffeeBoiled beef, lettuce, tomato
Wed.1-3 eggs, 200 g spinach, tomato, lemon waterBaked fish, salad, whole grain bread
Thurs.1-2 eggs, vegetable salad, coffeeBoiled veal or lamb, tomatoes, celery, tea
Fri.Vegetable saladBoiled beef, celery
Sat.Vegetable saladBoiled beef, celery
Sun.½ grapefruit, ¼ grilled chicken, tomato½ grapefruit, ¼ grilled chicken, tomato, celery, carrots

The menu for the second week is repeated.

Sample menu

It is very difficult to independently create a menu within the Maggi diet for each day of the 4 upcoming weeks. Therefore, it will be easier and more correct to use ready-made ones.

Of course, they are estimates only and are subject to variations and adjustments based on your circumstances and individual preferences. For example, someone doesn’t like tomatoes, but can replace them with cucumbers. Others may be allergic to shrimp, but you can always eat any fish instead.

Therefore, determine the duration of the diet (2 or 4 weeks), the option (egg or cottage cheese) - and select a menu that suits you to the maximum.

Two-week Maggi diet

The Maggi egg diet for 2 weeks provides 3 meals a day. Dinner should be no later than 18-00. During the day, you need to drink purified still water without restrictions, and also avoid all kinds of snacks in between meals.

Let's take a closer look at the menu for each day.

Every day for breakfast you need to eat grapefruit - 1 pc., boiled eggs - 2 pcs. and drink a cup of coffee.

Day 1: lunch – herbal tea, 2 boiled eggs, tomato; dinner – grapefruit – 1 pc., green tea, 2 boiled eggs, vinaigrette without oil.

Day 2: lunch – grapefruit – 1 pc., 2 boiled eggs; dinner - salad of tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, baked lean meat (chicken or turkey).

Day 3: lunch – spinach, herbal tea, 2 boiled eggs; dinner - cabbage, beets, green tea, 2 boiled eggs, cottage cheese.

Day 4: lunch – spinach, coffee, 2 boiled eggs; dinner - coffee, vinaigrette, lean fish (hake, pollock) - 150 g.

Day 5: lunch – 2 boiled eggs, herbal tea, spinach; dinner – cauliflower, coffee, fish, vinaigrette.

Day 6: lunch – fruit salad (grapefruit, pineapple, kiwi, tangerine); dinner - coffee, steak, vegetable mix of cucumbers, tomatoes, celery, onions.

Day 7: lunch – boiled chicken fillet (chilled), tomato, grapefruit; dinner - carrot, cabbage, tomato salad, baked turkey, coffee.

Then you just need to repeat this menu completely for another week.

Menu for 4 weeks

The Maggi protein diet for 4 weeks has the same requirements as the fourteen-day diet. However, due to the increased duration, it is much more effective and allows you to lose up to 20 kg. overweight.

In case of intolerance or allergy to the main ingredient, it can be replaced with cheese up to 25% (the lower the percentage of fat, the better) or granular cottage cheese 3-5% (one serving - 200 g).

The curd version carries the same amount of proteins as the egg diet, but this modification of the Maggi diet is healthier, since the fermented milk product is easier to digest, lowers cholesterol levels and strengthens bones. However, the main contraindication to its use is hypersecretion of gastric juice. Frequent intake of a lactic acid product contributes to the exacerbation of gastritis, which can lead to aggravation of the well-being of a person losing weight and the occurrence of erosions (ulcers) on the mucous membrane.

The 28-day Maggi diet is divided into four weeks, each of which has a strictly developed diet.

The essence of the diet

If you are not one of the people with iron willpower and endurance, and you need quick and tangible results, you should pay attention to less strict but longer diets - after all, the slower the body loses weight, the safer it is for health. One of these is the Maggi egg diet. Nutritionists say that if you strictly follow this diet, you can say goodbye to 10-20 kg in just a month!

The secret is that the diet is designed so that weight loss is carried out not due to a calorie deficit, but as a result of chemical reactions of the body aimed at removing waste, toxins and accelerating the breakdown of fats.

Diet rules and recipe features

  • The first and main rule is that the diet must be strictly observed! There is no way to swap the breakfast and lunch menus or snack on something fatty and high in calories on the Maggi egg diet, because it gives such a great effect precisely due to chemical reactions in the body. The only thing that is permissible is not to eat an unloved product, but under no circumstances change it.
  • The more fluid you drink, the better! A dehydrated body is extremely reluctant to part with fat, so you need to drink at least two liters of water.
  • Coffee and tea are allowed on the diet - of course, no additives. It is permissible to use a sweetener.
  • It is not prohibited to add salt, pepper and other natural seasonings to products - but no chemical seasonings, fat or vegetable oil.
  • As for cooking recipes, vegetables should be cooked without meat broth and oil (salt and seasonings are allowed).
  • Any deviation from the diet and you will have to start again.
  • Physical activity is welcome.

Important! Since the diet is unbalanced, it is a good idea to take a multivitamin while following it.

Pros of the Maggi diet

  • the diet is not strict - in fact, the calorie content per day is quite sufficient so that the body does not turn on that same “emergency” mode and does not begin to stock up on fat literally out of thin air;
  • On a diet, you practically don’t need to cook - just boil meat, fish, vegetables, stock up on citrus fruits and eggs at the nearest supermarket and forget about cooking altogether for a week! The menu for every day consists of fruits, boiled meat and fish, and most importantly, eggs. And there is almost no need to cook. This is a good way to save time and nerves - after all, when you cook and try the dishes, in the end you are tempted to eat the forbidden;
  • there is no need to weigh every piece of food and orange slice - if the quantity of a product is not specified on the menu, you can eat it as much as you like without the slightest remorse;
  • The egg diet gives a sustainable result - due to the fact that the caloric content is not reduced too much and the weight is lost due to the general cleansing of the body, the lost kilograms are very likely to not bother you for a long time. And this is confirmed by reviews of women who used the Maggi egg diet for weight loss.

Disadvantages of the Maggi Diet

The only and main disadvantage is the need to strictly adhere to the diet and menu. Otherwise, the result will be much worse than expected.

Attention! Due to the large amount of citrus fruits and eggs in the diet, you should closely monitor your condition. There is also a second version of the diet, where boiled eggs in the diet are replaced with cottage cheese.
