27-year-old Kia Twisselman began her struggle with excess weight in October 2021, when the scales showed 130 kilograms. And she proved by her example that the best results are achieved not through tricky diets and strict food restrictions, but through self-love and patience.

It all started when Kia read Rachel Hollis' bestselling motivational book, Wake Up, Baby! Stop believing lies about who you are so you can become who you are meant to be.” And I decided to follow Hollis's plan, outlined in the book, which consisted of following five simple habits: wake up an hour earlier, move actively for at least 30 minutes a day, drink a lot of water (half your body weight in ounces), keep a weight loss journal, switch to intuitive eating. Kia started doing all this in October 2021, and by January 2019 she managed to lose 10 kg. The result has inspired her to set her sights on a bigger goal - losing another 45kg by October. And everything worked out, and even better than she expected, because by the fall she lost not 45, but 55 kilograms.
An American woman almost drowned and realized that she needed to change her life. She lost 60 kg
California resident Dominique Montgomery ate fast food and gained weight of one hundred and thirty kilograms. Only after realizing that such a body could destroy her, she was able to pull herself together and lost almost half of it. But now there is a problem: the skin on my tummy that pops when I run - funny, but quite painful!
Dominique Montgomery is 22 years old, and most recently she weighed twice as much as she does now - one hundred and thirty kilos. Perhaps she would still remain as plump if not for one incident that completely changed her life. Dominique almost died while swimming in the sea, and at that moment she realized: she needed to lose weight.
It happened two years ago, on one of the Californian beaches. Dominique was playing in the water with friends when the tide suddenly came in. Everyone managed to go ashore or climb onto the rocks, but not her. She weighed too much to climb the rocks.
Her friends tried to help her, extended their hands - but in vain. She weighed too much, no one could pull her out of the water.
I thought I was going to die, I had no idea what to do and I was scared to death.
Fortunately, before Dominique drowned, the tide ended and the water calmed down and began to recede. The exhausted girl climbed ashore.
As Dominique told the Daily Mail, until that moment she was not particularly worried about excess weight and “accepted herself for who she is.” The girl ate a huge amount of fast food, including “burritos the size of her own head.”

Victory with a big smile?
This story completely changed her picture of the world. She was determined to change.
If I myself can’t even get out of the water, what am I doing with my only life? There was an acute feeling of disappointment and shame. I realized what terrible shape I was in. And since then I have completely changed.
The girl had tried to stop and go on a diet before. The first time, she says, it happened when she was five years old. But every time it ended in nothing. Parents ordered school uniforms from the studio, and Dominique continued to load herself with the same 5 thousand calories a day in the form of burgers, potatoes and soda.

Hello guys, I have an update! I have already lost 63 kg! ? I now have new goals. And I’m going to start educating people: telling them how important it is to pay attention to excess weight and lead a healthy lifestyle. Link in bio! ?
Before she could ride a bike or go on a ride, she had to weigh herself and make sure she was within the weight limit. Sometimes I had to give up entertainment. But she was unable to refuse delicious flatbreads stuffed with meat.

Urgently need a dose of sea vitamin! ☀️?
With the eating disorder that Dominique suffered from, she simply could not realize that she was full when her body had already had enough food for a long time. She wanted to eat more and more until “satiation” came in her mind. It was so hard to fight that Dominique eventually gave up and stopped worrying. By the age of 19, she weighed more than 130 kilograms.
Everywhere I went people stared at me. I felt like an animal in a zoo. Once at the stadium, someone I didn’t know threw me a burrito. I felt helpless, gradually I began to blame all the failures in my life on the excess weight, which, as I assured myself, did not depend on me - I could not help it.
Only after being on the verge of death, and in front of her friends, Dominique felt that something had changed in her mind. She started with long walks, then began walking several kilometers over rough terrain, then running regularly. She took up the calculations with a calculator and calculated how much effort she needed to spend and, accordingly, calories, how much she could eat in order to lose weight at the safest speed possible, without ruining her health with a radical diet, and got down to business.
As a result, in a year and a half, only with the help of diets and exercise, the girl lost 63 kilograms. But she still has a lot of excess skin left. Dominic is currently raising money on a crowdfunding platform to undergo surgery to remove it. It costs about 15 thousand dollars, and the girl herself cannot yet save such funds.
When I do jumping jacks during gymnastics, my tummy flops around and smacks me. Firstly, it’s just inconvenient, but actually it’s also quite painful. And I still can't wear the clothes I dreamed of. I love fashion so much, and I could dress cool, but no.
If you need to lose weight, never count how long you've been doing it, advises Dominic. Instead, measure how close you are to your goal every day. You will have ups and downs, but even if you screw up one day and, for example, eat something you shouldn’t, this is not a reason to give up for a second - and in no case should you lose sight of your cherished dream, your horizon to which you strive.
Self-confidence, patience and willpower are what will take you where you need to go.
Stretch marks after severe weight loss are always a problem. But sometimes it is proof for non-believers. New Zealand resident Simone Anderson, who lost more than 80 kilograms in 11 months, was accused on social networks of falsifying “before” photos. The woman, to prove the opposite, eventually published a photo of excess skin. She shocked many, but convinced everyone.
And journalist and blogger Kelly Glover also lost 70 kilograms and was very happy with the changes that had occurred in her appearance. But she noticed that men began to pay less attention to her. The explanation given by a guy I knew turned out to be very simple and full of stereotypes.

I'm in the news now ✨
The amazing story of Yana losing 60 kg!
An interview with an amazing girl, Yana, who was able to make an amazing transformation that deserves applause!
What was your life like before the transformation?
At the age of 6, I had a severe concussion, after which obesity began. I don’t know what I was going through in my head, but the doctors and endocrinologists hopelessly threw up their hands, unsuccessfully trying to get through to me. One way or another, all my life I have struggled with excess weight using different methods and methods. Starting with pills and ending with fasting according to Malakhov. But the insidious kilograms went away and came back doubly...
So, by the age of 38 I weighed 130 kg!
This may seem strange, but I have always had a very positive attitude and attitude towards others and myself, I like to pin myself down, so that no one else wants to do it. Active recreation: rafting, hiking, alpine skiing - I did all this even at 130 kg!
I have always enjoyed success with men, I have been married since I was 18, officially married 3 times, I have two children. It’s interesting, but my husbands never welcomed my weak attempts to lose weight, so, having enlisted their support, I ate whites and cakes.
What motivated you to take care of yourself?
One fine day I decided to jump with a parachute, but I was not allowed to jump! The maximum permissible weight is 100 kg. And I’m a beauty weighing 130... How can that be??? They didn’t let ME in??? Okay, I said. I'll be back next year! And the 70-kilogram one came back. And she jumped! It was with the instructor who didn’t let me in))).
Where did this difficult path begin?
I woke up in the morning and said to myself: “YOU don’t eat anymore, girl. You just don’t eat anymore.” I hung my ugliest photograph on the refrigerator; when I looked at it, I not only didn’t want to eat, but I wanted to shoot myself. I applied absolutely all the techniques and methods that I knew and tried on myself. This includes not eating after 18-00, and not eating more than 1000 kcal per day, drinking only water for 24 hours after a breakdown, and removing all more or less “wrong” foods from the diet. In short, it’s easier to say what I ate than what I gave up. There were so many mistakes at the beginning, but they helped me lose my first “light” fat.
Tell us briefly about your power system
At the moment, through trial and error, I have developed the right diet for me. This is a must-have healthy breakfast - complex carbohydrates + protein + simple carbohydrates. Most often it is oatmeal with cottage cheese and apple. Next, I eat every three hours, in portions of 150-200 g. Before 2 p.m., carbohydrates (no buns or sweets, as you understand, but brown rice or celery root puree), after 2 p.m., only protein and fiber. Basically it's chicken breast with vegetables in any interpretation. I don't drink alcohol, I drink a lot of water, about 2-2.5 liters.
To make it clearer, here is my approximate daily diet:
Breakfast
- Omelette of 2-3 eggs, with 1 yolk. Milk 1.5%, 2 tbsp. spoons, 1 spoon of oil (linseed, camelina, olive)
- Coffee or tea without sugar, with substitute
- Sandwich (Zdorovye, Borodinsky bread, Oltermani cheese)
Lunch
Curd casserole with dried apricots (150 g)
Dinner
- Beef Stroganoff with boiled meat (150 g)
- Salad (bok choy, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, olive oil) (50 g)
Afternoon snack
Chicken breast with seaweed (150/50)
Second afternoon snack (usually after training)
Protein cocktail
Dinner
Cottage cheese (150 g)
Tell us about your training program
I train 4 times a week in the gym. Before strength training, do 20 minutes of any cardio exercise - be it a treadmill or an elliptical, and at the end of the workout also 20 minutes of cardio.
I divide the workouts by muscle groups: one day – chest/triceps, second – butt/legs, third – back/biceps/shoulders, fourth – butt/legs, focusing on “problem areas”. In my case, these are legs. So I devote two days a week to them.)))
What can you advise girls who are taking their first steps in fitness and weight loss?
Don't be afraid of anything or anyone! Go to the hall, to the people, to society! Buy a cool workout suit and sneakers, glow with joy and positivity in any form or weight. If you can treat yourself without hatred, then no one will think of judging you or laughing at you for being overweight... I went through this, and I know for sure - be happy, and the energy will return a hundredfold.))) Hire a trainer, he will give you the technique, do not be afraid to work with weights - only weights will lead you to your cherished goal, and not all sorts of group classes. Alternate between cardio and strength training, stick to proper nutrition, AND NEVER RECORD YOURSELF FOR BREAKDOWNS... We all have them, believe me.
How has your life changed now?
Self-esteem has increased greatly. I have always loved myself, and now especially. I like my face, I hardly wear makeup, and it’s so beautiful. I became more confident. Really confident, and not in public: “Look, yes, I’m fat and I don’t care.” There is no bravado of self-affirmation, and there is no more self-affirmation, I have proven a lot to MYSELF, and this is the main thing.
How have you changed, having achieved body perfection?
I found the figure I dreamed of all my life. Lord, I dreamed of myself as I am now. But I won't stop. I won’t be able to lose any more weight - because there’s nothing to do, but there’s still a lot of work to be done on my figure itself! An ideal butt, quadriceps, biceps, thighs - I still have to work and work on this. So no stops in the fight for your dream figure!
Parting words for girls losing weight
Girls! My dear ones! Everything is possible in this world. Just close your eyes and imagine YOURSELF. The one you want to become... If at 38 years old, with 60 kg of luggage, I was able to get rid of it (without anyone’s support), then so can you, do you hear? – ALL OF YOU can do it too! Just tell yourself: “I WANT AND I WILL”!!!
From the administration of our weight loss magazine... The story of our heroine’s transformation is truly impressive! Getting rid of 60 kg is a real feat! So let’s take an example from Yana, and for greater motivation, look at the real stories of losing 40 kg demonstrated by our other heroines.
Changing the step
One and a half kilometers along the ocean from the hotel to the Chinese restaurant, then back to the hotel - and one and a half kilometers in the other direction. This was the first route that Ilya took at a brisk pace along the outskirts of the city of Rayong.
In medical books, he read that fat is burned most quickly during long-term aerobic exercise of moderate intensity (this is when you do something with effort, but you don’t choke and you can talk). Of all the loads, Ilya chose walking as the safest in his condition - and largely thanks to it, he lost his first 25 kilograms. And it turned out that walking is not just moving your feet along the road.
— The muscles of the back, abs, arms, shoulders, and neck actively work here. And if, for example, you bend just a little differently when walking or change your step and swing, your well-being and speed will change noticeably. It was very interesting to experiment with this.
At first there was no time for experiments. Weight 150, temperature over 30, humidity 80... The main task in the first weeks was not to hit zero, but to get out the next day. And every morning Ilya lifted himself by the scruff of the neck and dragged his body, aching with all his muscles, along the path along the sea. At first he walked for 40 minutes, then an hour, two hours, four... The taxi to the bakery was forgotten: several months of walking started the process of losing weight, strengthened his muscles and taught him to understand and feel his body.
Returning to the hotel, Peresedov took a shower and sat down to eat.
The main thing in the treatment of obesity was to ensure a calorie deficit - he had to spend a lot more of them than he gained. Ilya started his diet with a couple of apples or a handful of rice a day, washed down with “big water.” He continued - smoothies made with his own hands, vegetables, nuts, lean grilled meat, dietary soups (“with a couple of shanks and onions”), and rarely, light cheese. In general, he did not change his usual eating habits and, according to him, did not think about meticulously measuring calories. I weighed myself once a week. For every month in Thailand, he became about 8.5 kg lighter.
Over time, Ilya became bored with just walking four hours a day. But jogging at his weight meant hitting yourself in the spine from below. An alternative was the ellipse.
